Inner Dialogue: Him

She's sitting outside, far enough from the house that a campfire is safe, looking up at the stars and wishing that she was somewhere she could hear the ocean. It was one of those dreams that chased her out here, the ones that aren't quite fantasy, but not clear enough fully be called memory.
At least, most of it wasn't. She has a image, a single instant in with, with all the knowledge and moment, but none of the context.

"I can remember this...
"So, why can't I remember you?"

The flames crackle, and she talks to herself in quiet, uncertain tones. Strange, but familiar words that make her smile softly, if sadly. It isn't the piece that she wanted to steal back from the shadows in her mind, but it's an important one, and she'll take it.
