shosenShadows may be the other side of the Light, but they are not the opposite of it. Darkness is the opposite of Light: it exists only in the absence of it. Shadows exist only in the presence of the Light. They are the children of the Light, birthed only when it strikes an object, or a being.
Created as they are, Shadows dance and shift, twist and turn; shaped and formed only by the Light and the being it strikes, they are deceptive, reactive, hidden and hiding. The Shadows actions are directed only by the interactions of the being and the Light.
Where the Light is separate and apart from the individual, the Shadows are tied directly to them, unable to be separated. The path of Shadows is therefore also a selfish one. In this, however, the often deceptive Shadows are entirely honest.
